Have you ever heard of Ramen? A person like you, wandering around on my blog, will probably have some knowledge about Japan and its amazing dishes, right? But for the heck of it let me educate the ones that are not so familiar with the beauty that is ramen.
First of all, the way you pronounce it is rah – men. “Men” as in “All men must die.”. Any Game of Thrones fans out there? Anyways, ramen is a Japanese noodle soup dish. It contains a wheat type of noodle served with a meat- or fish-based broth. Sometimes accompanied with soy sauce or miso, pork meat, dried seaweed and green onions. Throughout Japan there are many types of ramen dishes. Every region can have its own variation.
I used to love ramen before going vegan. It is very tasty. Lucky for me I have found some vegan ramen places in Japan that I would love to visit when I go back :). Next to that there are also some variation at non-vegan restaurants that don’t contain animal products at all, so check the menu before you go somewhere and you might surprise yourself with what they have to offer.
Cycling in order to find some ramen
During a lunch break Tatsuya wanted to eat his favorite dish, ramen. So he took off on the bicycle in order to satisfy his needs. I asked him to bring the Sony Action Cam with him to film his trip so I could upload it to my youtube channel. I must say he did a pretty good job. My first time speaking to a camera went horrible, hahaha. He is a natural talent.
